FIT attended our very first Asset Management BC conference.  The event was held in Richmond and offered great sessions from establishing your asset inventory to trying to manage the changing costs landscape due to tariffs.

In addition, Christopher Paine and David Morrical each spoke at the conference.

Christopher on Long Term Financial Planning (LTFP) for Asset Management – a walkthrough for how to perform one.  For those who wanted and brought their data, they could put together the start of their own LTFP.

David, along with Ben Lubberts, Deputy Director of Engineering at View Royal, spoke on the Sustainable Infrastructure Replacement Planning (SIRP) dashboard.  In it was the ability to maintain your SIRP year after year and not just a semi-decade exercise.

Accompanying us at our booth was David McAllister of Morello Communications – a welcome addition as always – speaking to the needs of good communication and content in conveying your message.

The 2024 Government Financial Officers Association of British Columbia was held in Kamloops June 5-7.  It offered seminars and connectivity for municipal financial officers.

FIT Local Government Consulting and Morello Communications were proud to support the association and showcase our services…and through that have a little fun along the way.

To engage with delegates about the financial considerations of Long Term Asset Management planning we put together a Scrabble board with financial/asset management words.  Prizes to those who unscrabbled the provided tiles!  What we didn’t expect was the response because we had to acquire 3x more prizes!  Good times had by all.
